A Taste of India - Sept. 2006
I thought I'd post some pictures from my trip to India last fall. We went over to kick off a project with an off-shore engineering firm in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India.
We flew from Cincinnati to Boston to Milan, Italy and then into Mumbai. It took about 24 hours to get there and about 25 to get back. Wow, that's a lot of flying!
The living conditions are just a bit different than they are back home.

This is a new apartment building being constructed above rickshack housing.
Holy Cow!!!
Yeah, cows roaming the streets. I didn't get the picture, but we saw an elephant on the sidewalk too. You just don't see this stuff in the U.S.
More fine living. We were driving down this road during a tour of the town when a man lifted the burlap roof of his home, walked onto the sidewalk and started urinating. This is how many people live here.
More shanty town living. On our last day, we ate lunch at the Taj Mahal Hotel. It overlooks the Gateway to India.
Indian food is delicious anyway, but man was it good here.
We flew over the alps on our way back home. The jagged lone peak at the edge of the clouds is the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
