Homecoming Day!!!

After 16 days in the Good Sam NICU,
Jude got to come home on Tuesday, June 16th
They took real good care of him and sent home a healthy little boy.

He was all dressed up for picture day at the hospital.
Trish was soaking it up.
They're so beautiful!

He's been sleeping more in the day than at night the first 2 nights.
I think he takes after his grandpa.
We'll get it worked out after a few more days, weeks, months or years though...

June 13

Jude's last day with the tube in. He decided that somewhere between tonight and the early morning, it was time to come out. He pulled it all the way out; from his stomach and through his nose. And, he ripped the tape that was holding the tube off of his face too. At least that's what the big scratch on his face suggested.

Jude's progress

Jude has come a long way since Sunday the 31st. He's been on a ventilator, under the heat lamp for jaundice, picc'd/IV'd for nutrition & antibiotics, etc.

Well, he's not having any breathing issues anymore. So, no O2 and no monitors. All the antibiotics are done, so they've taken out all the IV's.

He's started eating on hi own, but still has a way to go. They told me that he needs to be able to have a full 24 hour period of normal eating before they take out the feeding tube. Once it's out, he then needs to do another 2-3 days of normal eating before they'll consider releasing him.

We think we're getting close. Maybe by mid-week, around the 17th.

I eat to sleep, and I sleep to eat

June 6th

Thursday, June 4th and Jude had a little Jaundice.
They had him under the hot lamp for about a day.

We get a little spot that we can decorate for him,
so we put up a few pictures of the family.

The nurse wasn't happy with her footprint work,
so we got two sheets of prints.

Trish got to "Kangaroo" with Jude on Wednesday and today.
After she did it for about 1.5 hours, it was my turn.
We hung out together for about an hour.

Big Day Wednesday

All kinds of good stuff happened Wednesday. Jude's O2 and CO2 levels have been improving. And, they've been feeding him breast milk through a feeding tube.

Trish also got released from the hospital in the afternoon and finally got to see him, hold him, love him and squeeze him. She stayed in the chair with him for over an hour.
